Nissan are pleased to announce that following a disappointing score by the Euro NCAP, Nissan have made a modification to all vehicles being produced and did a service campaign for all existing Navara and has now scored maximum points in the side impact test, as well as the maximum score for the protection of a three year old. In pedestrian safety the vehicle scored two out of a possible four stars.

The latest model of Nissan Navara is the D40 pickup, which was launched in 2005, replacing the slightly smaller D22 pickup.

The D40 Nissan Navara Pickup is available in double cab or king cab body styles. The crew cab design enables rear seat passengers to be carried without losing bed space.

A 2.5 litre diesel turbocharged engine with intercooler is fitted as standard in the D40 model with the option of a 6 speed manual gearbox or a 5 speed automatic with overdrive. The 2.5 litre engine was upgraded in the D40 in September 2006 to make it Euro IV compliant, also giving it a market leading 174 bhp engine.
